Mao Fumei

Mao Fumei was the first wife of Chiang Kaishek, and the biological mother of Chiang ChingKuo.

Mao was born in Fenghua, Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, and married Chiang KaiShek in an arranged marriage. She died in World War II during a bombardment. Like most women of the era, she was not given the opportunity to learn to read or write. When Chiang came back from Japan he divorced her. She stayed in her home town and was killed by the Japanese bomb intended for her exhusband.
